Academic Lessons
At the Ottawa Art Academy, we offer comprehensive academic lessons in both Drawing and Oil Painting, designed to develop and refine your skills in realistic art.
Our Drawing Lessons are carefully structured, guiding you through a series of projects that build on fundamental techniques. As you progress, each project introduces new challenges and complexities, helping you grow as an artist while exploring a variety of techniques essential to realistic drawing.
Similarly, our Oil Painting Lessons provide a deep dive into the world of classical painting methods. You'll learn time-honoured techniques such as "fat over lean," dry brush drawing, and the application of local colour, all of which are vital to achieving a polished, professional finish in your work. Each lesson is crafted to offer something new, ensuring that you continuously expand your knowledge and skills.

Whether you're a future animation or pre-animation student, this course focuses on strengthening your fundamentals. Abstract or modern art techniques are not included in the curriculum of our academy.
